Are you one of those people like me with a weakness for those really cute journals? We fall in love with them, buy them, bring them home…and yes, I probably have too many. 😉 You need some fun ideas to put that blank notebook to good use!
As much as I love the idea of keeping a regular diary, it just doesn’t happen (I blame thousands of iPhone photos. And Instagram. 😛 ). But having a fresh, blank notebook is exhilarating, and there are plenty of other ways to use those empty pages.
Here are 9 ideas to get your creative juices flowing:
1 | Make a nightly scrapbook.
Remember your day by saving random things you came across. That beautiful leaf from your walk, your favorite magazine picture, or the corner of your napkin from the restaurant.
2 | Keep all your favorite quotes.
When you find words that motivate you, scribble them down in your notebook. You can go back and get inspired all over again.
3 | Doodle every day.
Even if it’s a stick man, drawing something daily is a great way to challenge your creativity. Not an artist? You might find yourself getting better with time!
4 | Remember special memories.
We all have those moments from our childhood that we never want to forget. Writing these in a special notebook is a way to keep them in our hearts forever.
5 | Create a character profile.
Dream up an imaginary person, and write as many details about them as you can. What do they look like? What is their personality? What adventures are they having?
6 | Write a journal of dreams.
If you’re the kind of person who has lots of adventures in your sleep, try keeping track of what you dream about. Where have you been during the night?
7 | Make a book list.
Keep track of the books you’ve read and highlight your favorites. What did you enjoy about them? You can also list the books you still want to read.
8 | Create a personal stylebook.
If there was a manual on what makes you YOU, what would it say? Write down your likes, your dislikes, and the little things that make you special.
9 | Count your blessings.
Sunshine. Oceans. A warm hug. Challenge yourself to write 5 things that you’re grateful for each day, and watch your happiness soar.
